MY LAUNDRY BAG

A laundromat concept that embraces the needs of the customer and provides a space they want to return to. Practicality of materials and a tight budget led some of the design decisions. Natural green hues and timber contrast against industrial appliances and ducting. A bespoke Japanese-inspired folding table mixes materiality in the centre of the space. Lighting integrates within the hanging linen sheets with a softened glow.

The colour blocked palette simplifies the design as does the joinery details of Japanese style structural joints and concealed fixings. Curves in the waiting area provide a gentler side to the industrial aesthetic through curved ends and round table tops. An appealing playfulness is found in the custom powder coated table bases, wall lights and wall graphics.
